You may have seen these pictures on Facebook as Alex is an awesome FB poster, but I couldn’t let her go off to college without getting them on my blog, too. So in celebration of her leaving for Alma College this week, I wanted to make sure these made it here, too.

I have to say that I REALLY enjoy photographing ballerinas. They’re trained to be graceful at all times so it is natural for them to know how to move and pose. (Plus dancers always come with amazingly photogenic dance outfits or costumes, too!) I love seeing people’s reactions when they see a ballerina in full tutu and pointe shoes in the middle of downtown Grand Rapids. Alex had little girls watching her in awe as she stood on pointe during the shoot.

Alex is a beautiful dancer and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her perform in several productions, including The Nutcracker and Mowgli. She’s planning on continuing her dance at Alma College with the Alma Dance Company. She’s also quite the little student. I’d tell you what she got on her ACT’s, but you’d be too jealous. Let’s just say she opened many doors for herself with her test scores.

For this shoot Alex got her hair and makeup done with our “Glam It Up” package. We had such a fun time seeing her getting all done up (without the fake eyelashes or excessive bobby pins needed for ballet performances!).

Overall, Alex is both a talented student and dancer. She has worked hard over the years to get to this level and you can see that all her hard work has paid off!
