Senior Portraits at the Lake
There's something about the lake that brings out a completely different kind of photo: the light at golden hour, the sand dunes, the sound of the waves. I've been shooting senior sessions on Lake Michigan for nearly two decades and have a handful of West Michigan beach locations I love. I also shoot on private beach properties if you have cottage access.
A beach session can stand alone or pair beautifully with a downtown or park location earlier in the day. It's one of those backdrops that never gets old, and the photos look like nothing else.

Pre-Session Consultation
We'll go over locations, timing, and what to expect so nothing feels rushed or last-minute on the day. Have questions before then? I'm easy to reach.
1–2 Hour Session
Enough time for multiple outfit changes across one or two locations without feeling rushed.
20 Finished Images
You select your favorites from the full session. Your 20 finished, professionally edited images are delivered to your gallery. You can add more from there.

Lake Michigan Session Questions
Can anyone book a Lake Michigan beach session?
Yes, you don't need to live near the lake. I shoot at several West Michigan beach locations I know well, and I also shoot on private beach properties if you have access to one. It's a great option if you want something different from an urban or park setting. We'll figure out the right spot during our pre-session email exchange.
When is the best time for a beach session?
Late summer and early fall are ideal: the light is warm, the lake is beautiful, and the crowds thin out. Golden hour sessions near sunset are especially stunning at the lake. If you're thinking about a beach session, reach out early since those summer evening spots go fast.
What's included in a senior session?
Every session includes a pre-session consultation, a 1–2 hour session at one or two locations, and 20 professionally edited images you select from the full proof gallery. If you want more, you can always add additional images.
